Discover Your Signature Strengths

In this excellent PhilosophersNotes TV Episode Brian Johnson explores the origins of Positive Psych and how to get your signature strengths on!

Here are my top 5 signature strengths:
1. Courage to pursue my dreams
2. Passion for learning
3. Integrity
4. Authenticity
5. Creativity

What are your top 5 strengths?

Guess which one is glaringly missing on my list? Gratitude

I have to admit that this is not one of my signature strengths. The signature strengths come naturally to me. They are effortless… almost part of my core DNA. Gratitude is not on that list because it was only two years ago that I discovered the importance of gratitude and celebrating every small success along the way. And wow… expressing daily gratitude has already made a huge impact on my life and since it did not come naturally to me, I invented www.GratitudeLog.com. :-)

Hi– well– It seems as thou I have found what i am looking for — serenity peace calm etc etc etc= I don’t know but I do feel as thou I am making progress in the right direction — going slow all the time — focusing on the moment I am in — being slow and deliberate in all things — I am getting more time and space when I do that — i also do not xpect as much as when I was younger — O simply do not xpect as much in terms of wants and needs and desires — I cut that all out — i hpehopehope — that I have — help?? thanks a lot everybody — best John R

I have noticed that when we do something new in the garden ‚or in the house, or add something new, (after enjoying what we have for awhile,) It feels like Christmas. Anticipation is part of the fun .
What is really great, is that the new object makes you see the older arrangement in a different light, and most of the older things near the new object , glow with the freshness of the new one ., just by being near the energy of it .
My point is , I believe that enjoying what we have, material or otherwise , along the way, was rewarded by the older things seeming very fresh again .I hope I made sense.

Interesting I would say objectively that my top 5 signature strengths are: 1. Yoga, blessed with the ability to withstand trauma and help others by (teaching, or being an example) 2. Compassion (great friend) 3. Creativity
    a) abstract painting (b) writing poetry, 4. Entertainment– a dance party woman at heart, love to entertain and mingle. I don’t need to drink. 5. Appreciation for everything from day to day things to small and big things, from others.
